Psalms 37:37 “For the person of peace will have a posterity – a legacy.”
Purpose in life. We all want to be known for making a difference in someone’s life, in our world, and in our community. In the darkest of nights we wonder if what we do makes a difference to the God of the universe. The evil one speaks to me and says, “No one cares if you are here or not. You have been a failure. You are worthless. You will never work again.” When I recognize this messenger, I have to scurry to a quiet place and repeat God’s promises to me over and over.
“I will never leave you or forsake you. For I know the plans I have for you, plans to give you a future and a hope, says the Lord. He knows the way I take and when He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold, says Job.” My legacy is to show Christ to everyone I meet and people are watching. Everything you do. Everything you say. You are leaving a legacy.
What legacy do you want to leave in this world? When have you been a person of peace? Of dissension? What “posterity” or success in future generations will you leave?
