Shanghai Treasures

Jeremiah 52:7 “Then the city wall was broken through, and the whole army fled. They left the city at night through the gate between the two walls near the king’s garden, though the Babylonians were surrounding the city.”

Shanghai is an ancient city now bustling as one of the largest cities in China with a population of 24 million in 2017.  It sits at the mouth of the Yangtze River and has redeveloped into an international finance, transportation and commerce center as it was in the 1800s.

Much of the city has been newly developed with magnificent buildings of Lujiazui in Pudong provice facing the old 1.6-mile “Bund” with its old outstanding architecture of the waterfront district.  Shanghai’s Bund is now a tourist destination and Shanghai is considered to be the financial and commerce city of China.   We have two days here.  Not enough for sure.

The Shanghai Museum was the best museum we visited in China.  There was the Bronze Room dedicated to ancient artifacts.  Everything we had seen in other Museums in China is represented here and of the highest quality and presentation.  Make sure to visit there.

The Minority Room, which showed the arts and crafts of all the 55 Minority groups in China was amazing.
