My name is Taz, the Schipperke, and I am the reason my people walk so much. My people and I do notice the incredible view and blue sky with the mountains in the distance, but only when I am not distracted. If I am on a mission, they have to watch out for me, and my safety.

We see a pretty flag of our nation with the big Pikes Peak in the back. My master likes to talk to all the people. My mistress only likes the walks as exercise, unless she is hiking in the mountains, or unless there is a view.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 The Message

People have been yelling more lately. “Get your dog on leash! Pick up after your dog! Where is your mask! I am calling the police!” The people are stressed and I wonder why I cannot get them to calm down.
Many times when I walk, I hear my friends inside their houses saying hello. Sometimes, I see a stranger who wants to chitchat with me.
Mostly, I keep walking unless a pretty girl comes by to say hello. We sniff all the important parts. We think people should do sniff each other as well, and it would not take so much time to see if they liked each other.

When I come home, I want three things: water, food in my bowl and a nap! In a couple hours I will be ready again, but for now, will my mistress just sit and type so I can rest awhile?
What things bring your comfort? How do you handle your stress and your fear?
