No Words – Just Odd

Sometimes it is too hot to hike. Then you have to go shopping. Somewhere.

Brady, TX was the perfect place to visit on a hot day in April. Brady, TX websites refer to this small town as “The Heart of Texas” as it is 15 miles from the geographic center of this very large state. It also features the ubiquitous County Courthouse Square and that is where you start shopping at the “Oddities Store.”

What are your favorite small towns to visit where you live? Do you like to “antique”?  How do you like your BBQ?  Smoky, sweet, vinegar, hot, spicy, dry or wet?

Of course, do not forget to eat BBQ. Texans excel in this wondrous feast. The Country Music Museum is located here. The ‘Annual World Championship BBQ Goat Cook Off” occurs on Labor Day in September.

I will let the pictures tell the story of Brady’s oddities when “there are no words.”

“The eye can never say to the hand, “I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, “I don’t need you.” And some of the parts that seem weakest and least important are really the most necessary. Yes, we are especially glad to have some parts that seem rather odd! And we carefully protect from the eyes of others those parts that should not be seen, while of course the parts that may be seen do not require this special care. So God has put the body together in such a way that extra honor and care are given to those parts that might otherwise seem less important. This makes for happiness among the parts, so that the parts have the same care for each other that they do for themselves. If one part suffers, all parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. I Corinthians 12: 21-26 The Living Bible
